The Shibuya Simulator is a landscape simulator developed to compare ideas for the redevelopment of Shibuya Station and its precincts, and show clearly how the new sections planned relate to the existing Shibuya cityscape. Anybody, not just local people but anyone with access to the requisite Internet environment (ADSL 12Mb or similar), can now use an ordinary PC browser to simulate different views of the Shibuya of the future. Currently the simulator provides the following three options |

Future A |
Shibuya Station and precincts with decks and high-rise station buildings; in other words, a proposal to improve the pedestrian environment by means of large pedestrian decks, and erect above the station a station building complex including high-rises, with around three times the floor space of the current station. |

Future B |
An alternative view of the future Shibuya Station and precincts. In this version, it is the pedestrian environment on the ground that is improved, with development above the station confined to retail facilities with around the same floor area as present, and other development transferred to the areas surrounding the station forecourts. |
